Example of clearing all food items and headings
Save Symbol Selections
Food symbols selections are not part of the food item list database (they are considered a design element, allowing them to vary menu by menu). This prevents having to add the food into the list twice, just to change a common symbol such as the New symbol.
But there may also be times when you’ll want to retain the selected food item symbols, from menu to menu, such as for allergens or designations of Vegan, Low Fat, etc.
This can be achieved by using the following steps to create a new menu with the symbol selections from a previous menu preloaded.
-
Make a copy. Instead of
File > New menu
useFile > Make A Copy
and use an existing menu that has the symbol selections you need on the new menu. -
Clear the foods and headings. To clear out the menu copy, use
Tools > Clear all
and check the boxes forFood Items
andHeadings/Headder/Footer
(and any others you wanted cleared) but make sureSymbols
is NOT checked. -
Food symbols now preselected. You are now left with an empty menu, but with food item symbols preselected, so when you add a food item to the menu you’ll get the previous food symbol selections with it.
